About Me / Profile

I have spent 15 years working with children, young people and parents. Ten of those years were spent in London where I started to specialise in preventative and early intervention work with children and young people who were at risk of future anti social behaviours and other associated problems.

I have worked in education (primary and secondary) and have spent time delivering group work programmes mainly developing children and Young People’s Social skills, Self Esteem and building their confidence to reach their full potential.

I have been involved in Leading edge innovative work and am a competent trainer in the solution focused approach having done my initial training with one of the UK's top consultants.

I have also developed parent mentor programmes that were often carried out at home helping parents develop their skills and become aware of their own potential. I worked for two very successful charities in London doing early intervention work.

I am a qualified Youth Worker, with qualifications in working with children and families. I have 10 years experience as a solution focused practitioner, careers adviser (teens)(Connexions) and am a qualified life coach.

"I am passionate about making a difference in individual’s lives and communities and believe we all are experts of our own lives and all have the ability to succeed and reach our full potential."

The key is tapping into the resources we often don’t know exist. Once we have started this process we can then start to free ourselves of the restrictions and limitations we place upon ourselves and there is space to create new possibilities in our lives.

I have specialist knowledge with young children (5-8) and experience in running social skills programmes with children who display ’difficult behaviours’ in school and/or at home.

I have also set up a project from scratch doing all the recruiting, training and supervision of staff. This was an individual and group coaching programme for children and young people at risk of offending. This was a very successful programme and was based on a similar scheme running in New Zealand.
